Marios and Elenor, our assigned 'church foster parents' brought Rachel and I to Avoca handweavers at Wicklow for lunch last Sunday after service..and then to Greystone where the seaside was. Will post more pictures up if I have more time but look at how happy we were!
For now, I shall summarise with four words:
Indeed, it was wonderful :)

my room is looking 10000000000000000X its normal messy state.
help!! *drowns in a bottomless pit of boxes+clothes+books*
denise has kindly allowed me to store my stuff at her place for the summer tmr so i have to get everything packed up and sealed by 8am tuesday morning. probably take a cab and lug all these boxes.i think her place has a lift. oh please, let her place have a lift! O.O
spent the morning going to uni to get my reference letter and the bank too. rained while i was out. and when i was safely in my room, it stopped. WHY??!!
will be checking more apartments at 5,6 and 8pm. by the time i get home fr running about the city, i'ld be so tired i wont want to move.. and i probably wont keep my hopes soaring high this time with the viewings. been disappointed by very misleading maps, landlords who cant even remember their appointments and too smalll rooms, even a table cant fit in =.="
back to packing, hmm.. how on earth did i manage to accumulate so much stuff in less than a year?? its been only 8 months! feel like just chucking everything out. meh.
wish me luck!

hunting for cardboard boxes from stores is hard work!!
apparently they 'shred them immediately to reduce storage space'. says pc world, tesco, mark and spencers etc. pfft.
finally managed to sequester a couple of lovely huge ones from asia market with yun. yayy asia market! you never seem to fail me! i love you asia market. wait, i remember the time you sold me very expired instant nooodles. and the other time, your veggies shrivelled up and yellowed the next day ive bought them while u insist they were 'fresh'. plus the other time.. okay, ill stop here because it would take a while.
lugged them home and there it is sitting nicely in the middle of my room. when am i gonna fill them with all my stuff to move em to its new temporary house, i dont know. i just keep staring at them and i get happy. wth i know. but let me be wth-ish for a while! for someone who display severe pms-ish cranky syndromes when packing a luggage bag fr kch to kl, this is a good start! congratulate me. now!
im getting nostalgic. one by one my floor mates are moving out. im going to miss living here.ah, was it so long ago? unpacking from my 17hr flight from kl in this then unfamiliar place. anticipating the arrival of my new roommate, wondering how she would be like. hopefully nice like me to find out that shes not coming anymore , so i get this double room eventho im paying half the price :D
kept awake that night and a few nights after, because of the bar just a stone's throw from my apartment. learned to sleep through noise pollution live loud bands who play the same songs over and over each time each week , drunkards shouting around, the sound of smashing bottles. easy peasy.
i love how dunnes (supermarket) is just opposite my apartment. just out my window. and the convenience it brings. milk stolen for the Nth time? no worries, dunnes so near. chicken stolen??? look! dunnes!. okay not funny. i lost count of how many times my food gets stolen from the communal fridge. all of my pizzas, milk, chicken, yogurt etc whoever the thief is, i hope you get poisoned. oops, that was mean of me. fine, i hope you choke. and let it be CLEAR that it DOES NOT hurt to ask. never. would this nice, gentle, lovely soul (ahem) turn you down if u asked for food because you wasted your food money on booze or just being plain lazy to walk 10 steps to dunnes to get your own??? i dont mind sharing my stuff but you dont want to share do youuuu.
and all the meetings held in my room. that 1st online quiz we gotong royonged together. lol. CC practices. planning our roadtrips. movie nights. gonna miss all this. it wont be the same staying so far from each other when we move out :(
extra fan dancing lessons for international night. at rach's/my place/millin basement. ahhhh i think it was int night that really bonded us.
library being 30 seconds away.
having hotel-room phones calling each other for free just by entering our room numbers.
birthday surprises, potlucks, get togethers, cooking meals and getting mad at the money-eating laundromat at millin basement.
yeah, ill miss this, the good, the bad..
the memories are for keeps but its time..
time to make new ones.

its 956am on a disgustingly drippy rainy morning. hmm having no plans today, ild just lie here snuggled under the duvet until ive had enough of this warm bed (naturally never) ooo becoming a bum :D
yes, exams are over!! very much relieved. am sleeping too much normally again with a peace of mind. oh ive missed sleeping with without a care in the worrlllddd :D
dont ask how exams went! dont ask. ok ill tell you. one word: horrifying!!! probably the worst exams ive ever sat for in my entire student career...SO FAR. damn, its only sem 2, itll only go downhill from here. oh wells lets just hope ild pass this sem. exams results are out the day before i fly home. erm..yeah, whatever.
next on the to-do list: FIND AN APARTMENT. uber tediousness! and packing!!! O.O
its all pretty sketchy right now. about when would we actualllly find a place to stay, move in, if not where to dump our stuff? would we need to come back early for summer to find a place if we cant find one now before we leave dubs?.. praying everything runs smoothly.
during the exam period, it was sooooo hot here. i know right. dublin = hot? never!!! even in summer :( but maybe the sky knew we were melancholy, saddish and grey because of a bunch of papers with hard questions on them, that it decided to unleash glorious sunshine to brighten things up. overdid it tho. it started to get really hot and stuffy at home aaaannndddd it doesnt help when ur stuck in the lib/home, and u look down the window to see summery happy people enjoying the weather shopping or lazing around on the grass at the park.. *stab stab stab*
and so i thought just u waaaaiiitt. after my exams ild roll around the wonderful green grass and skip along the streets to declare my independence.
uhhuh. right. the skies were gloomy and rainy ever since. thanks. thanks alot.
1st day after exams: went for a few appointments looking at apartments. no luck on findin one suitable yet. i think we went to 4 places?running around city trying to find the different place. i dunno why addresses in dublin are like..2 lines? eg. exchange street, temple bar. thats it. whaaa...? even with google map its still hard. and when we got to exchange st finally after roaming around in circles, we realise its NOWHERE in temple bar okay. geez man.
after all our efforts, met up with a few others for dinner at hard rock cafe. yummm.. was so tired and full after. came home and collapsed on the bed. lol
2nd dayy: our picnic at the park (organised eons ago during exams) was reduced to 'potluck at millin basement' due to the rain =.=". ran around in the rain to buy ingredients. made sticky lemon chicken with melissa..and it was awwwwwwssssssuuummmm posssuuummm babeh. XD fun fun fun. rain lasted from early morning into the night! and i mean heavy rain. crazy!
3rd day : church, grocery shopping, came home and made tom yum! obviously not fr scratch :D but hey, a proper meal in ages! caught up with sallyy on skype. lol was good talking to you milady!! 2.5 hrs of nonstop chatter. happiness! yes, starbucks. i know youre dying for ice blended green tea. i want my java chip! :( and all of the various places we'ld go in good ol kch.. cant wait to see ya.
and today its day 4! ooo an invitation to roam around dundrum!
ok enough of this typing. pfft..needa catch up on some snoozing :P and then dundrum here i come!!

claire : uh.. even if things were different, im not really into the whole relationship thing right now..
alex: hmm...
claire: just seems like everyone that gets married, gets a divorce.
alex: okay. i think its more like half of all marriages get a divorce or smth.
claire: yeah, but who knows how happy the other half is.
alex: dunno. i still think its worth it.
claire: why?
alex: for moments like these. the way when someone gets you when no one else does.
its definately worth it.

my weekend is endingg! sunday nights always bring about a tiny bit of sadness cause its back to sch tomorrow :(
lucky you aidan chan! 8 months of freedom! lol
i mean, i do quite like sch..but i like weekends better. haha
this coming week would be pretty hectic. cardsigning on friday. on top of that, starting practices for international night twice a week. so for malaysia, we're doing a drama written by our seniors. all i have is 3 scenes, all very minor because im involved in the chinese dance which is also part of the play. im not worried about the acting (because in scene 1, i do nothing, scene 5 i say 2 lines and other times i act bimbotic. lol) but the dance! oh the dance!! i cannot dance! if im still no good by..march, i would voluntarily pull out! this is not being pessimistic. its being practical. the show..must go on. haha
okay, i know cny was ages ago but who says u cant blog about ancient topics, ey?
1st cny away from home :(
of course its not the same. the streets were so quiet, no fireworks, no red and gold plastered around the shops. no lion dance. NO RED PACKETS :P
but we made do with the best we could :D and the people here were very accomodating. grosvenor church (the church we go to every sunday) held a special cny bring and share lunch especially for us!

the ladies :)
1st thing we see once we got off the metro
setting up the tripod for group photos! will upload them once evelyn does.
and then we're all set! walking to champs de elysees,
passing by buildings of which i forgot their names :P and monuments
here we are!
CHAMPS DE ELYSEES!!
leading to all the high-end shops
nah, tian. spotted your b&o. lol
funny story. he arrives in paris on the 4th
and guess when i left for dublin?
the 3rd!!
talk about bad timing eh.
louis vuitton! where it began
at the end of champs de elysee, you'ld get to the Arc de Triomphe
can u see the faint outline of it behind us? heh
and then we took our tourist shots
walking under the arc
and through the underground tunnel to climb up about 300 steps in the arc to get to the top.

well, not really, got to a level below it where they showed the intricate detailings of the arc's exterior thru this projector thingy and models.
the view? spectacular! my camera does no justice.
and you could see all of paris from up here!
its not a really good photo but look, you can see the basilica in montmartre from here!
its the white mosque-like buiding right at the back shrouded in clouds on top of the hill
went back along champs to grab a bite. and set off on foot to the eiffel tower!
walked and walked...and walked.
and
nearly there!!
walked and walked some more..
almost there!
*walked and walked...AND WALKED!!!* aaannnddd
yay!
hello eiffel tower!
in the lift up the tower.
top of tour eiffel! it was freezing cold up there. the strong winds didnt help either. so after 15 mins or so, popped back to the observatory.view of paris from the observatory...
headed back to the hotel with our feet all sore.
but hey, we got to see 3 famous landmarks of paris in a day :)
